Portal - Still Alive (Typography)

When it's static, text is just... well... text! Through clever use of typography you can add visual interest, but it's still pretty boring at times. Add motion to them however, and they tell a whole new story. ;)

I like this song, soft and gentle, and it says so much of my type of work and the pressures that we face as programmers/designers. haha.. I'm well, still alive. :D

This is for you too Cherlene, enjoy! :P

MIT Media Lab: Siftables

Been quite a while since my last IT-related post, so here's one that I found to be quite fun and interesting. :D

Albeit interesting, I felt it was not exactly practical. haha.. Oh well, just good to know what the guys at MIT are up to. That is one university that I want to study in if I ever get the chance in my future years. ;)

To My Brother

Pretty cool that my ministry got a response from my brother (my real brother). Here's the excerpt from his blog:

Brother, if you're reading this, please, for the love of God, remove me from your 'morning sms list'. To quote you, you said that you wouldn't know when I will see the light or when God knocks on my door, so you'll keep sending me those 'Ultra-Christian' smses every morning anyway. I'll tell you now that for sure, I'll never see the light, neither will I open the door when He knocks. I really don't mind supporting you by going down to church with you if you guys have some nice events going on down there say, on Good Fridays or Christmas Day- but that doesn't mean I would like to convert myself to a Christian someday. Even promotional smses and emails have an option to 'opt-out' , so why can't I? It takes me less than 5 seconds to read and delete each of your sms so why waste the money on someone like me? I urge you to reconsider. No hard feelings. :)

I decided to post my replies to him here too, so that if at any chance, it may encourage people to press on for God to reach out to their love ones.

Hey bro, yup just read it, and thanks for writing it too. :D

  1. I'll tell you now that for sure, I'll never see the light, neither will I open the door when He knocks.

loL~ well I used to say that too. God has His way of working in men's hearts. :)

  2. Even promotional smses and emails have an option to 'opt-out' , so why can't I?

Mine is not promotional? I do it out of the love I have for you. :)

  3. It takes me less than 5 seconds to read and delete each of your sms so why waste the money on someone like me?

You know it's really good for me to know that you read it, even if it's less than 5 seconds. It's never a waste of money, especially for you my dear bro. You _are_ important to me.

  4. I urge you to reconsider. No hard feelings. :)

I considered and thought long and hard before I began this ministry for God. I reconsidered your words. As from what I wrote already, you know my answer. No hard feelings taken too. :)

Before I end, I would just want to share this with you.

1 Corinthians 13
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8 Love never fails.

In the same way, I will always protect you, always trust God, always hope for you, and will always persevere on.

You are my only bro. Nothing will bring me greater happiness than to serve you. :)

Don LaFontaine: The Voice

Here's an amazing talent, with an equally amazing voice. :)

Close friends who know me very well know that I _love_ to imitate voices (Mumbai dah? Why so serious? Countless others~ haha..). Without knowing that it's him, Don LaFontaine, I must have imitated his voice countless times over. *loL~*

Sadly though, you will not be hearing any more trailers with his voice. Just a few days ago (1 September 2008), he passed on. It's a pity, but he did left a legacy and an awe inspiring voice to the world. :)
